It's been a great month and it's almost the end of the year, and what a year...
As we get closer to Christmas and the festive break my diary somehow becomes a lot busier alongside the nights being a lot longer - still the same amount of hours in the day though!
A rundown on how I have been working for you:
Sim Spec - Went on a walk with the Sight loss council to experience what it is like navigating the streets with sight loss. Committed to making life in Wandsworth the most accessible it can be
Enjoyed the Fireworks - Battersea Park was a triumph once again and it was great to have a night off and look up to the sky. The new performance stages were rather joyous
Attended the Mayor of London's Black History month event in the Mayor's living room alongside Wandsworth community sector and neighbourhood heroes
I was invited to a UK and USA creatives BAFTA party at the US Ambassadors residence in Regents park. It was 'high end' and I met some wonderful creatives interested in being involved in our...
London Borough Of Culture - We finally launched the website. Look here for jobs, grants and news. I appear on this page with the Liberty steering group providing guidance on all things neurodiverse and accessibility focussed.
The National Windrush Museum held their inaugural lecture with the Vice Chancellor of the University of the West indies. He spoke on his experiences being educated in Hull and even mentioned his time in our very own Battersea and Wandsworth.
We held our Civic award ceremony where we champion and celebrate sone of the great people in the borough doing wonderful things to support others. I was one of the selection panel and it was a difficult job - but we picked the most diverse winners I've seen ever.
After a lot of online discussion about the Granada Theatre I held an information session about community ownership. Read all about it here. If you are interested in this area of work, please let me know what you want to do next?
My article on Sargassum was also published in First Magazine - You can read it here.
And, did my day job at Be Enriched, held a councillor advice session at the Library, met with businesses and charities and wondered around Tooting reporting issues when and where I see them.
Thats all folks!
